The Constitutive Assembly of the Spain Convention Bureau (SCB) of the EMFF is held in the Space Exploraterra

The network brings together the Spanish cities with the tourism Congress and has been the first to be constituted

Seville, may 23, 2024.- The network of the EMFF that brings together the Spanish cities with the conference tourism, Spain Convention Bureau, has been formed this morning in Seville. It has been the first of the ten networks of the Russian Federation to celebrate your Assembly in this mandate. Vicent Marí, President of the Consell Insular de Ibiza; Carolina Darias, Mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; and Carlos Velazquez, Mayor of Toledo, occupy the presidency and Vice-Presidency of the SCB and lead a Council of Government that complete 14 members representing many other destinations.

The Constituent Assembly was held in the framework of a workshop of the specific work in the Space Exploraterra of the andalusian capital. In the opening of this day, the President of the EMFF, María José García-Pelayo, has encouraged members of the Spain Convention Bureau to continue working for this model of tourism that desestacionaliza the influx of visitors, and that drives the sustainability of economic, social and environmental concerns in the cities in which it has developed. In his speech, he recalled” the commitment of the EMFF support to the municipalities, to their offices and Conferences , sharing best practices, training and advice to ensure that “together we are allies to the tourism MICE tourism remains important.”

The President, who recalled the figures of 2023 (13,000 million euros was the economic impact of tourism of meetings in that year) decided to improve even more of face-to-2025, to continue “to be an example of sustainability and accessibility.”

The President of the Consell d’eivissa, Vicent Marí; the Mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Carolina Darias; and the Mayor of Toledo, Carlos Velazquez, President and Vice-presidents have presided over the bureau of the Assembly, and, together with the technicians of the EMFF, directed the development of the same. Among other issues, in the Assembly were elected from the members of the Council of Government, subject to the approval of the Action Plan and the Budget for 2024, and the progress of the Action Plan for 2025, and have also proposed the incorporation of permanent members and observers. Has chosen the city of Granada as the headquarters of the Assembly in 2025.

At the end of the Assembly, Vicent Marí has pointed out that “the SCB is a space in which the different cities that are part of this network of the EMFF share experiences and initiatives, a space in which we can all paddle in the same direction, which is to foster the tourism Congress”. The second Vice-president, for his part, celebrated the incorporation of four new Autonomous Communities, two new cities, “to make the strongest and most powerful of this network that puts the focus on quality tourism”. Carlos Velázquez has referred to the tourism MICE tourism as a “solution to the problems that some of the cities we have with the management of tourism”, because this is sustainable tourism, which brings quality and desestacionaliza tourism demand in our locations”.
